Stevie Cruz Photography: an Orange County Gem

Your Birth Team recently had the pleasure of meeting and working with Stevie Cruz and we fell in love with her work and the space she does it in instantly! Many of our clients have given thought to memorializing their pregnancies or their newborn's first days in photograph form. Often, though, the ever-growing to-do list and busy lives of the typical Orange County family mean that the chance to capture these special moments is lost. I encourage families to look into these options early on and book their sessions in advance because I've seen what wonderful additions they can make to baby books, mantles, and holiday cards! Here's a bit about Stevie and her work photograhing cute families, beautiful growing bellies, and tiny new baby faces.

"I am a professional photographer based in Anaheim Hills, CA and I've been capturing newborns for the past 4 years. These sessions are so special to me, being a mom of three little kids! Newborn sessions are held on location at SCP Studio, which is a retail storefront studio nestled on the border of Anaheim Hills and Yorba Linda. Newborn studio sessions are typically captured within the first 14 days of life. Prior to Newborn Sessions, I welcome expecting mothers into the studio to hand-select blankets and props that will be used during the session. Allowing mothers to pick what seems like minor details, allows for the final products to be exactly what is desired and cherished for years to come."

"In addition to the traditional newborn in studio session, I offer 'Fresh 48' Sessions that are lifestyle shoots in the hospital or private home the day after birth. These are traditionally held 24 hours postpartum so that moms can recoup their energy and feel refreshed for the session. I personally love these special sessions because nothing compares to the fresh, joy-filled smiles that mom and dad have with their sweet newest addition. During these sessions, I encourage families to be themselves, snuggle close with their new bundle, and invite siblings and grandparents to participate as this is a full family event!"

Fresh 48 sessions happen in the comfort of your home or hospital room.

"Some clients opt to capture the whole year leading into the newborn stage, so I do offer Maternity picture sessions as-well as family photo shoots. These are typically captured between 30-34 weeks. I offer clothing options in-studio for expecting mothers to try on and utilize during their personalized maternity session. I find that offering complimentary clothing choices for the sessions provides them a stress-free way out of choosing their wardrobe, while still making them feel special and beautiful in pretty colors and light materials. Maternity sessions can be indoor studio-style or held outdoor with the beautiful setting sun."

"Whether capturing a moment in a family's life or freezing those newborn memories for all time, I invite my clients back into the studio after every session for a preview, where I present the images individually. Clients are able to decide which they love the most. As a parent myself, I know that your child's quirky grins and personal gestures are what mean the most to moms and dads, so I always want you to hand-select your favorites.

I am a full-service photographer, which means I do not simply hand over a CD of images. Rather, I offer a wide selection of tangible products, including fine art prints, canvases, archival grade albums, and keepsake boxes that I allow my clients to see and hold while they are at their preview so you can decide which products are right for your family. It is important for me to help you navigate the entire photography experience from start to finish, including installation of canvases in your home, if desired."
