Your Birth Team Doulas Honored

On the evening of May 1, 2016, hundreds of doulas & birthing professionals from every Southern California county enjoyed an evening of food, dance, and awards at The Grand in Long Beach, CA. Every year for the past 12 years, doulas, childbirth educators, chiropractors, nurses, midwives, and lactation professionals in the area attend a banquet hosted by The Doulas Association of Southern California (DASC) in order to honor professionals who contribute positively to the greater birthing community. Amanda Cagle and Brandy Ferner of Your Birth Team were two of the nominees this year! Amanda was nominated as Birth Doula of the Year & Mentor of the Year; Brandy was nominated for Mentor of the Year.

The theme colors this year even match Your Birth Team's teal theme!

The event was appropriately prom-themed, as high school proms everywhere were also commencing. Attendees' dress ranged from full-length gowns and tuxes to Little Black Dresses and smart shoes to funky 80's style attire that could very well have been from that era.

As you may have gleaned from the photograph above, doulas & childbirth educators are some of the most funny, lighthearted, sweet people you may ever meet. We all work so hard that when we make it to an event, we go all out and enjoy it to the fullest!
